Western Regional Tournament Records Set This Year:

Hack & Splash!

Here we are again, at another Western Regional Tournament.
This time, at perhaps the most unique, beautiful site yet, Ski Park in
Orting, Washington, outside of Tacoma.   What a place this
is. 

The technical team of Merle Vasbinder, Dee Johnson and your’s truly,
Smilin’ Phil is sponsoring this daily log of our activities.  Besides the usual ski related
splashing, the six-hole course surrounding the lake is leading to quite a
bit of hacking.  The 3rd green is shown in the background of the
picture to the right.  Call it the signature hole, but they are all
memorable. 

The weather is so far less spectacular than the people that have made
this site perfect.  Special recognition goes to the Ski Park owners,
but Merle Vasbinder is the one that really made our lives easy. 
Merle gets the Technical Controller Order of Merit.  He has this
place wired.  Can’t forget to mention John and Lucie Goodman and all
the other officials too. 

There is not much more narrative needed to describe Ski
Park.   The photos speak volumes.
