Diablo Shores Record Slalom Tournament
Great tournament with amateurs getting to ski with the pros
Diablo Shores Estates in Brentwood, CA has just
completed its 2nd annual 3
round Record and head to head cash prize Tournament. This tournament is one
of the largest in the Nation and includes 3 rounds of slalom and on Sunday a
Pro Am Cash prize head to head competition taking the handicapped top 8 pros
and amateurs. This year we hosted 63 skiers and included some of the top
Water ski pros including Andy Mapple, Wade Cox, Chris Parrish, Chris Rossi,
Terry Winter, Marcus Brown, Greg Sund and Greg Badal. Andy Mapple and Wade
Cox only skied the first round on Friday and then had to return home to
Florida because of the hurricane approaching their homes.
Not only was the tournament a Hugh success but we were able to raise monies
for several different charities. $500.00 was raised on a duck race for
Disabled water skiers. $250.00 was raised on an Auction of a water ski
handle bracelet donated by Mike Hayes for Junior Development, and all monies
from our daily Massages were donated to Terry and Windy Winter for medical
expenses.
Anyone that missed this spectacular event must mark their calendars now for
next year (We already got our 1st 4 paid entries, from our Canadian friends)
