Directions:� The California State
University, Sacramento, CSUS, is
located at 6000 J Street.� A map to the
campus and a map of the campus can be found at www.csus.edu.� Allow a few extra minutes for parking.� Each University public parking lot has a
payment box.� Don�t forget to buy the
parking ticket, because the University enforces its parking rules.� For Bell Acqua, take Raley Blvd.
North from I-80, turn left at �E� Street to the lakes.� For Liquid Zone, take Hwy. 99 north
for about 12 miles out of Sacramento, turn east on Howsley and go 3 miles, turn
north on Pleasant Grove Rd for about 4 miles, to 3258 Pleasant Grove Rd, on
right.
A clinic is required �
�� Every 4 years to maintain an official�s rating.
�� To upgrade to Regular/Senior Judge, Scorer, or
Driver; to upgrade to Regional or National Safety Director.
�� To acquire an Assistant Driver rating, or a State
Safety Director rating, or a Technical Controller rating.

Judges
Classroom style discussion and instruction for judging all 3
events.� This clinic is open to all
individuals.� Includes towboat speed
control, video jump, working with judge�s forms, and working with computer
scoring and �paperless� tournaments.�
Types of judges, their roles, and the relationship of judge to other
types of tournament officials will be discussed.
Trained Drivers
Classroom style instruction/testing and on-water practical
instruction/testing.� To obtain AWSA
certification to drive for ski schools, AWSA Class F or Novice tournaments,
disabled tournaments, and wakeboard tournaments.� Also serves as an introduction to the Rated Drivers clinic.� Bring ski equipment, swimsuits and wetsuits
to the on-water portion so students can pull skiers and drive for each other.
Rated Drivers
Classroom style instruction/testing and on-water practical
instruction/testing.� To qualify for
driving in traditional AWSA tournaments of class C or higher.� Students must have completed the Application
for Assistant Driver form, and the work required by that application, and
obtained required signatures.� Bring ski
equipment, swimsuits and wetsuits to the on-water portion so students can pull
skiers and drive for each other.
Speed Control
For rated drivers and rated judges who seek more information
and practice with automatic throttle control.�
Classroom style instruction and on-water practical instruction.� Credit will be given for judging and/or
driving.� Bring ski equipment, swimsuits
and wetsuits to the on-water portion so drivers can pull skiers and drive for
each other.� Judges will practice in the
boat as well.
Safety
Classroom style discussion and instruction, followed by
on-water practical instruction in the pool.�
For those wishing to serve as a Safety Director (Chief or Assistant) at
an AWSA-sanctioned tournament.� Bring
your lifejacket, and bring swimsuits and wetsuits � the pool is not heated.
Computer Scoring
Beginner – To get started in scoring, and for those
not familiar with scoring or judging rules.�
To help you with assisting a Chief Scorer in scoring each event on the
computer.� Advanced – In the
computer lab, setting up a
tournament on the computer prior to the tournament, scoring the tournament, and
closing out the tournament after it ends.�
For officials with any level of scorer rating or judge rating, or for
those familiar with scoring rules and tasks.�
Chief Scorer – For rated
scorers who are familiar with scoring each event by computer.�� Scorers must bring their own computer,
power strip and extension cord to the clinic.�
Covers loading software onto your own computer, setting up a tournament
on the computer prior to the tournament, and closing out the tournament after
it ends.�
Technical Controller
Classroom style discussion and instruction.� Includes a review of existing technical
rules, but also places emphasis on new rules with changing technology.� Will cover video jump, towboat speed control
systems, and more.� For anyone wishing
to acquire or maintain a Technical Controller rating for AWSA-sanctioned
tournaments.
