Looking North at Cheyenne Lake. The headline event for the day, Men 5
Slalom is coming up soon. These conditions will not last.
A little more than half way through the event, it is called on a count of
lightning. Andrea Plough reviews the rules that might be applicable, just
in case.
Dave Vogt, Chief Judge for next year’s Western Regionals in Colorado, does
the same. Note that the water is starting to glass out, but lightning is
still a concern.
The event restarted after about 20 minutes, and came down to a tie for first
between Martin Woodbury and Ken Seebold. Here is a shot of Martin during
the runoff rounding the 2 ball.
And here is a shot of Ken also coming around the 2 ball. Ken won the
runoff.

The crowds start to gather for the Western Region General Membership meeting.
The 2002 election results were announced, and Merle Vasbinder is the new
Director. More information on the election will be posted soon.
