2001 Nationals

The technical team was engaged today in the last minute preparations
for the Last Chance Ski Jump Qualifier tournament.  Our apologies for
not being ready on time, and as the saying goes, “don’t ruin a good
apology with an excuse”.  So we won’t.

The other mishap can be seen on his left lower leg.  Jumping
accident from this morning’s 3 round jump tournament down the block at
Ironwood.  12 stitches were needed to repair the hole made by his
right jumper.

Saturday, August 11

A quick glimpse of the Hayes/Johnson Cabana where we are all
staying. Mike and Robin’s motor home is on the left, Don and I are B&B’ing
it at the old Johnson homestead on the right, and the new Johnson luxury
coach is in the background (too big to fit in the cabana).
This is the signature photo of our little group.  First
night, BBQ with lots of friends and a basic good time.
Well we do have one excuse. Our Overall Protagonist, Dee
Johnson, has been riddled with mishaps as of late.  Two are evident
in the photo to the right.  First, there was a beehive discovered in
their old RV (the one they are graciously letting me stay in!).  In
the process of discovering it and removing it, he was stung something like
367 times.  It might have been 5 times and the story was exaggerated.
Dee is shown cleaning out the last of the bees.
