The
awards committee is going to try to recognize more athletes for their
accomplishments.� You can see we have
added more awards for this year, and for next year we hope to add more awards
for younger age groups. If you have any ideas for awards please let me know so
we can recognize as many athletes as possible for their accomplishments.

 

The
Women�s Sports foundation gives an annual award called the Sports Woman of the
Year.� This year we were excited to have
Rhoni Barton selected as a finalist for this award.� She was runner up for the Women�s Sports Foundation� Sports Woman of the Year.

 

This
year has been an organizational year where the awards have been divided between
the AWSA and USAWS committees. This has been a successful conversion and we
look forward to a busy year next� year
so that we can recognize as many skiers as are deserving.
