Two Western Region Skiers off to Big Dawg Finals

Greg Badal of Brentwood CA, and Scott Larson of Canyon Lake CA will be competing in the Big Dawg Slalom Finals. The championship will be held Aug. 13-14 as a separate sanctioned event from the 67th GOODE Water Ski National Championships at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach, Fla. Time to start thinking about 2009 tournaments

It is that time of year again. Tournaments for 2009 will need to be turned into your Area Council Person in December in preparation for the 2009 Winter Council meeting in January.

Storm Selsor & Alex Lauretano Named October Athletes Of The Month

USA Water Ski has selected Storm Selsor and Alex Lauretano as its Male and Female Athletes of the Month, respectively, for October. The U.S. World University Water Ski Team earned Team of the Month honors. Selsor, Lauretano and the U.S. World University Water Ski Team are now eligible for the United States Olympic Committee’s Athlete of the Month and Team of the Month honors. To read more, click here.

Important note to all AWSA and NCWSA Scorers –

WSTIMS release 3.54, which you’ve been using since early last summer (2007), does not include the necessary tables to score ski year 2009 Tournaments. For these, you must download and install and use the new release 3.55, which is now available in the usual location — links can be found under the “Scoring” subject on the “Water Ski” page of the USA Waterski website — or see the link included in this note below.

If you try to use WSTIMS release 3.54 to score a tournament with a 09xxxx sanction ID, you will get a message telling you that the necessary tables for that sanction year are not present — in that case do not try to score that tournament with an 08 sanction prefix instead — doing so will result in incorrect scoring. Instead, you must obtain and use the new release 3.55 instead. Please be sure to pass this note along to other scorers in your area, if you have e-mail addresses that do not appear in the addressee list on this note.
