If you are an event organizer and are tired of hassling with the registration process, we have the solution! For 2009, any Local Organizing Club (LOC) that sanctions a wakeboard, kneeboard or traditional water ski tournament online can use Online Registration (OLR).

The system is designed to make event registration a breeze for the LOC and the participating athlete. Using OLR limits the hassle of paperwork, allowing the athlete to spend more time behind the boat and the LOC to focus on organizing a successful event. Memberships, entry fees, entry forms, event waivers and bios are handled electronically.

For only $15 your club can take advantage of the following benefits:

LOC Benefits of Using OLR

Automatically verifies the athleteís membership

Credit card payments are directed to the LOCís PayPal account, allowing immediate access to the funds (standard PayPal per-transaction fees apply)

Stores event waivers electronically for the LOC

Stores athlete bios, which can be viewed online or printed by the LOC

Excel registration template file includes athletes who registered online; in addition to event and division information, other valuable data such as seeding values and qualifications, ramp height, boat speed and athlete’s weight can be provided when applicable

Can view entry and payment status in a variety of formats

Can input entries and track fees received for all athletes, including those who use mail-in entry forms

Refunds can be issued through the convenience of PayPal rather than sending checks via regular mail

Athlete Benefits of Using OLR

No more hassling with paper entries, waivers, personal checks and postage

Once registered, athletes can instantly view their entry status online, including (where applicable) qualifications, membership, seeding, etc.

Ensures that the athlete is scored in the proper division, and eliminates errors with membership numbers, which can cause an athleteís scores to be withheld from the ranking list

Stores athlete bios electronically so the athlete does not have to fill out a new one for each tournament

View other athletes who are registered for the same tournament through the online reports

Ability to enter multiple events in a matter of minutes

Be sure your club does not miss out on the opportunity to streamline their event registration for only $15! To set up your tournament with OLR today, simply click on the link below and following the on screen instructions. www.USAWATERSKI.ORG/sanctions

WSTIMS release 3.54, which you’ve been using since early last summer (2007), does not include the necessary tables to score ski year 2009 Tournaments. For these, you must download and install and use the new release 3.55, which is now available in the usual location — links can be found under the “Scoring” subject on the “Water Ski” page of the USA Waterski website — or see the link included in this note below.

If you try to use WSTIMS release 3.54 to score a tournament with a 09xxxx sanction ID, you will get a message telling you that the necessary tables for that sanction year are not present — in that case do not try to score that tournament with an 08 sanction prefix instead — doing so will result in incorrect scoring. Instead, you must obtain and use the new release 3.55 instead. Please be sure to pass this note along to other scorers in your area, if you have e-mail addresses that do not appear in the addressee list on this note.
