<description>It's been good talking to many of you, and getting your emails over the last few days. Here's some more information about Bill. I am unbelievably touched at the outpouring of friendship from all the people he knew. He was truly a great guy.

Bill's autopsy was completed yesterday, and they were unable to determine what actually caused his death. They now must perform toxicology tests, which could take 4-6 weeks, but they are reasonably certain that they will be able determine what happened from those tests.

Bill landed his last flip fine, but he appeared to lose the handle and porpoised (like a beginner would) after the flip was completed. When the boat came back to get Bill, he was unresponsive in the water. Bill was pulled onto the boat's swim step, and CPR and rescue breathing was administered by his friends and Bill’s wife Karen (a nurse). CPR continued until the paramedics and ambulance arrived, who continued first aid as they took him to the hospital. Bill was pronounced dead at Inland Valley Medical Center about an hour later. It appears that he died very quickly, not directly related to his Sky Skiing. Bill was extremely athletic and fit. He was training for a triathlon and planned to run in a marathon later in January. He died while doing something that he loved and excelled at.

An evening Vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday January 9, followed by a Celebration of Life Mass at 10:00 AM on Saturday the 10th at St. Martin's Catholic Church, 19791 Yorba Linda Blvd. Yorba Linda, CA 92886 . Lunch will follow the Saturday Mass in the Parish Hall.

Additional information will be posted and updated at: http://www.newopt.com/memorybook.aspx?memorybookid=157#mbContentColumn

Please feel free to add to the Memory book in the link, and to pass this email along. Bill was a great guy and had many great friends. I'm pretty scattered these days, and appreciate all your kind words and help. Thanks so much for all you're doing for Bill.

All my deepest appreciation,
Fred
